This Week We Covet Michelle Williams's Wardrobe

Iconic Dress: Audrey Hepburn in 'Sabrina' by Givenchy

When we think of style icons, it is inevitable that Audrey Hepburn's name is one of the first to come to mind. She embodied elegant, feminine glamour and always made even the simplest outfits seem unique, choosing classic, clean contours that complemented her long, lithe frame. To this day, her style is one of the most imitated, as she managed to balance her look between demure femininity and a more boyish silhouette.

Her designer of choice was Hubert de Givenchy, and they collaborated on many films including Funny Face (1957), Love in the Afternoon (1957), Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), Paris When It Sizzles (1963), Charade (1964), and How to Steal a Million (1966). But their lifelong partnership was first established when Givenchy was given the task of overseeing Hepburn's wardrobe in Sabrina (1954). The designer was initially relucant to take on the young actress, hoping he would instead be dressing the more famous Katharine Hepburn, however he was won over by Hepburn's unusual beauty and sense of style, and Audrey Hepburn thus became a muse for Givenchy's designs. This gorgeous dress she chose for Sabrina is an iconic symbol of their affiliation.

Runway to Red Carpet: Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard is a favourite fashionista of ours at Closet, and she looks gorgeous in this Dior Resort 2011 structured strapless dress, which she wore to the Paris premiere of Inception. Styled with minimal make-up, an edgy updo and neutral accessories, the dress stands out on Marion and complements her small frame perfectly. This Week We Covet Cate Blanchett's Wardrobe
